في تقريرها المالي الربع سنوي الأخير، أكدت شركة Sony أن Marvel's Spider-Man 2 في طريقها للإصدار في هذا العام المالي، وقالت الشركة: "نخطط أيضًا لإصدار عنوان رئيسي، Marvel's Spider-Man 2، في \هذا العام المالي، ونهدف إلى مواصلة إنشاء عنوان جديد، وطرح ألعابنا للكمبيوتر الشخصي وتعزيز تطوير خدمة الألعاب الحية".
